The design:
Sony Ericsson Vivaz measures 107 x 51.7x 12.5 mm and weighs only 97 grams. The phone comes in four different colors so you can get a serious silver, or easy-going red. The front of the mobile phone features the 3.2-inch touchscreen showing 16M colors in 360 x 640 resolution. Below the screen are three buttons: menu, call and end call. Above the screen is the earpiece and the ambient light sensor. The phone is made mainly of plastic, but since it is of very high quality it feels right. On the left side of the phone there is the 3.5mm audio jack, the loudspeaker and the microUSB port. The right side houses the volume rocker, two shutter keys – one for the camera and the second one for the camcorder. The back of the cell phone houses the 8 megapixel unprotected camera lens and the LED flash.

Performance:
The screen in the Sony Ericsson Vivaz has vivid colors and it is really responsive, yet it has somewhat poor direct sunlight legibility. The mobile phone runs on the 5th edition of Symbian, but a slightly tweaked (improved) version of the OS. The entire OS is very user friendly with its animations, shortcuts and customizability. It does not lag and the built-in accelerometer takes care of rotating the view. The menu structure is quite predictable and thus easy to use. The biggest disadvantage of this Sony Ericsson phone seems lack of smart dialing, but hopefully it will be fixed in a software update.
The phonebook in the Sony Ericsson Vivaz looks as usual in a Symbian phone so there is plenty of space for your contacts. Of course you can add some additional information to each contact, add a photo and a custom ringtone and so on.
Messaging with this phone is a real pleasure. SMS and MMS messages share an editor which shows you in how many parts your message will be sent if you exceed the limit of 160 characters. The email client can download headers, or entire messages and it is super-easy to set up so it will take just a few seconds. Of course you are free to set up multiple email accounts. To input the text you can make use of the virtual alphanumeric keyboard, or the full QWERTY (virtual) keyboard.
Multimedia:
The media center in the Sony Ericsson Vivaz looks much like in the Sony Ericsson Yari, or the Sony Ericsson Aino. The accelerometer works all the time so you can hold the phone as you wish and you’ll be able to see what you want. The music player shows album artwork, has a few equalizer presets and allows track filtering.
The video player works in portrait and landscape modes and plays HD movies, yet it has no DivX/XviD support out of the box.
The FM radio can remember up to 20 stations, but it does not support RDS. Just like the music player, the radio can also be minimized to play in the background.
Although the phone is not among the loudest ones, it surely has a high audio quality.
The 8 megapixel camera in the Sony Ericsson Vivaz can shoot up to 3264 x 2448 photos. The camera interface is comfortable and straightforward. The cell phone produces images with accurate colors, sharp edges and with little noise. Also the contrast and the amount of detail in the photos are ok so you can say that the overall image quality is really superb.
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz can also record 720p videos at 24 fps with autofocus. The videos look surprisingly good. They are smooth and sharp. The autofocus works quite well although it might have some problems with macros.
The design:
Sony Ericsson Yari measures 100 x 48 x 15.7 mm and weighs 115 grams. The front of the cell phone is dominated by the 2.4-inch screen showing QVGA resolution. Below the screen are the hard buttons which manage call and double as game controls in game mode. Above the screen are two additional buttons for controlling acmes and video call camera.the right side of the phone features the camera shutter button which might seem a bit too small for people with bigger hands. The back of the Sony Ericsson Yari houses the 5 megapixel camera lens and the LED flash unit. When you slide the phone open you can see the alphanumeric keyboard with somewhat uncomfortable keys so if you are looking for a comfy slider have a look at the Nokia 6760 slide review.

Performance:
The Sony Ericsson Yari’s screen shows vibrant colors and quite high resolutions and it is clearly readable in direct sunlight. Both signal reception and in-call sound quality are very good. The phone has also very powerful battery which will make the Sony Ericsson Yari useable for days. The user interface in the Sony Ericsson cell phone is highly customizable with its several themes. It also has nice transitions, animations and icons. The messaging is very pleasant as the Sony Ericsson Yari supports threaded messages and the email account setup is almost entirely automatic.
Multimedia:
Sony Ericsson Yari has something special when it comes to multimedia apart from the standard music player, video player and built-in digital camera. The phone was made with gaming in minds and so the Sony Ericsson Yari features Game Carousel. There are a few games pre-installed and you can get a lot more from the Internet. The dedicated game controlling keys, built-in accelerometer and the high quality screen make gaming quite enjoyable.
The 5 megapixel camera in the Sony Ericsson Yari works surprisingly well. The photos come out sharp, well saturated and with plenty of detail which makes this phone really versatile. Moreover, the Sony Ericsson Yari can also record videos at VGA resolution and 24 fps which is also not that bad.
This phone has it all: versatile connectivity, great digital camera, touchscreen and an alphanumeric keyboard, plenty of built-in memory and much, much more.

Sony Ericsson Aino pros:

+ 3″ 16M-color capacitive touchscreen, 240 x 432 pixels
+ Touch works in Java apps
+ Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS;
+ Wi-Fi with DLNA
+ 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and plenty of features

Sony Ericsson Aino cons:

- No standard USB port
- No standard 3.5mm audio jack
- Media library updates very slowly in the touch media menu
- No DivX/XviD support
- No xenon flash
The design:
Sony Ericsson Aino measures 4.1x2x0.6 in. and weighs 4.7 oz so it is not as long as the LG BL40 New Chocolate but it also has a smaller screen. The front of the phone is dominated by the 3-inch screen so it makes an impression of a touch-operated cell phone. However, the touch functionality is limited to multimedia and the rest of features is accessed by the hard buttons on the alphanumeric keyboard. When you slide the phone open you will see the alphanumeric keyboard with responsive and comfy buttons. The left side of the Sony Ericsson Aino features the Fast port, whereas on the right side are the volume rocker and a camera button. The bottom of the Sony Ericsson cell phone houses the loudspeaker grill and the microphone pinhole. The back of the Sony Ericsson Aino features the 8 megapixel camera lens, and a LED flash.
The Sony Ericsson Aino comes with a deck stand and a headset both of which might turn out very useful. The headset is very functional and helpful not only during phone calls, but also when it comes to controlling multimedia. The deck stand is used for charging, transferring multimedia and it looks nice on a desk.

Performance:
The 3-inch screen has great direct sunlight legibility and good overall image quality. The screen shows somewhat unusual resolution (240 x 432) but as it is in 16:9 aspect ratio everything looks great. Moreover, the entire user interface is touch (and resolution) optimized so it is comfortable to use. Since the Sony Ericsson Aino has a little limited touch functionality its interface might seem a bit hard to manage at first. However, when you discover when you may use the touchscreen and when you have to use the hard buttons everything is simple and easy to use. The interface is full of pretty colors, animations and transitions which do not slow it down so it all looks really good. The phonebook and messaging are great, as always with Sony Ericsson. The phonebook is customizable and the messaging is comfortable as you might expect.
Multimedia:
The biggest flaw of the multimedia section of the Sony Ericsson Aino is the time it takes the phone to refresh the media library when you change the memory cards. It is hard to say why but it takes 10 minutes on average. The image gallery takes full advantage of the touchscreen and so you might use your fingers to browse images. Zooming and scrolling is fast so watching photos with the Sony Ericsson Aino is a real pleasure. The music section with its animations and album arts works great and since the video player looks almost the same it is equally awesome. The phone comes with the Walkman 4.0 so the sound quality is outstanding (comparable to the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, or Apple iPhone). The video player is also good, but unfortunately it does not support DivX/XviD videos.
The 8 megapixel camera in the Sony Ericsson Aino is capable of taking up to 3264 x 2448 photos. The camera interface is entirely touch operated and the image quality is truly superb. The images are sharp, with accurate colors and little noise.
The phone can also record VGA videos at 30 fps which is nice, yet since they are recorded in 3gp files 1 minute of video takes about 3 MB.

The design:
Sony Ericsson Satio measures 112 x 55 x 13.3 mm and weighs 126 grams. The cell phone is available in three different colors so you can get the right one for you. The front of the cell phone features the 3.5-inch touchscreen showing up to 16M colors in 640×360 resolution. Below the screen are three hard buttons and a proximity senors for screen auto turn off when you put it close to your face. The left side of the Sony Ericsson Satio features the screen lock slider, connectivity pot and a microSD memory card slot. The right side of the phone has plenty of controls. Those include volume rocker, shutter key, a button for camera modes, and one for entering the gallery. The top of the cell phone houses the power button and the loudspeaker, whereas the bottom houses only the lanyard eyelet. The back of the Sony Ericsson Satio features the camera lens along with xenon and a LED flash hidden under a protective cover.

Performance:
The signal reception and in call sound quality are no problem with this phone. The Sony Ericsson Satio’s screen has excellent image quality and direct sunlight legibility. The screen itself is responsive enough so it is comfortable to use. The interface in the Sony Ericsson Satio is a slightly tweaked Cymbal so it is very straightforward and intuitive. You get a few tabs, full customization, shortcuts and large, user-friendly icons.
The phonebook has unlimited capacity and you can add images videos, ringtones and multiple information to each contact. You can also group contacts and search contacts by gradual typing.
Messaging is a pleasure with the Sony Ericsson Satio as it has a few different text input methods including virtual QWERTY keyboard. There is also a mini QWERTY keyboard if you like using a stylus. The handwriting recognition works quite nice too.
Multimedia:
The photo gallery in the Sony Ericsson Satio is just great. It not only works amazingly fast, but also allows customization. With tags you can access you photos quickly and the built-in accelerometer takes care of the screen auto rotation.
The music player supports plenty of file types and has very good audio quality. You can view the album artwork, and browse the music library in a few different ways. Unfortunately, the phone has no standard 3.5 audio jack.
The video player has somewhat limited functionality as it does not support DivX/XviD videos, but still it works well.
The 12 megapixel digital camera in the Sony Ericsson Satio is capable of shooting 4000 x 3000 photos. The camera interface is easy to use, the functions are abundant, the auto mode works fine – the camera is simply the best in its class. The image quality is amazing. The colors are reproduced very accurately and they are well saturated. There is little noise and the images are sharp. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the Sony Ericsson Satio performs better than some dedicated digital cameras (such as the Kodak EasyShare Z950, for instance).
The Sony Ericsson Satio records VGA videos at 30 fps which is a great achievement for a cell phone. The quality of videos is more than good and it is suitable for youtube.
The web browser in Sony Ericsson Satio works fined. It displays websites as it should and it has full flash support, however, the sites with flash might be too demanding for the phone and drain the battery and RAM quickly.

Sony Ericsson C901 is a cameraphone capable of taking 5 megapixel photos which might not sound too impressive nowadays, yet it is one of very few phones to feature a Xenon flash so it might be quite interesting. Additionally the Sony Ericsson C901 has plenty of dedicated camera controls and bright and shiny display, all of which make it an excellent phone for taking photos.

The design:

Sony Ericsson C901 measures 105 x 45 x 13 mm and weighs 107 grams. Although the phone is small and lightweight is feels very solid and durable thanks to the high quality of materials used in production. The front of the Sony Ericsson phone features a 2.2” screen displaying 256-color in QVGA resolution. The direct sunlight legibility is excellent, as usual in a Sony Ericsson. Under the screen you will find a standard set of 6 control keys and an alphanumeric keypad below them. The keypad feels rubbery and it is evenly backlit so it is pleasant to use. The left side of the Sony Ericsson C901 features the Fast Port and the lanyard eyelet, whereas the right side houses the volume rocker, and the camera controls. The top of the phone houses only the battery cover latch. The back of the Sony Ericsson C901 is quite distinctive with its unusual cover hiding the Xenon flash and camera lens. Also, the loudspeaker can be found there.

Performance:

The Li-Po battery in the Sony Ericsson C901 is quite powerful and the manufacturer claim is should last for about 430 hours in standby and almost 10 hours of talk time. The user interface on the Sony Ericsson C901 is quite standard, but as usual with a new phone there are a few cosmetic tweaks. The interface is quite customizable and you can make use of the multitasking. The entire interface is very responsive, and with no lags. Moreover, it is quite visually appealing. The phonebook is traditional, easy to use and with plenty of information fields. Of course, you can add custom ringtones, photos and notes. And the „Smart Search” works just fine saving a lot of time when dialing numbers. There are no issues with signal reception or in-call sound quality.
The messaging is just great with the Sony Ericsson C901 as the phone features threaded messages view. You can make use of the T9 dictionary, quickly write MMS messages and set up email account in just a few clicks. Unfortunately, the Sony Ericsson phone cannot view any attachments as it lacks a document viewer.

Multimedia:

The media player in Sony Ericsson C901 does a very good job, as usual in a Sony Ericsson phone. You can browse your music library by artist, genre, album, and you can create your own playlists. The music player supports plenty of file formats and it can play in the background. The user interface int he music player is simplistic and so it is easy to use.
The video player is also quite nice despite the lack of DviX/XviD support. There is screen auto rotation and screenshot capability. Also, the screen auto rotation is present in both audio and video player.
The Sony Ericsson C901 supports radio with RDS and can remember up to 20 radio stations. With the TrackID feature you can get to know who’s playing instantly.
The image gallery on the Sony Ericsson C901 is snappy and offers plenty of features. Apart from a few different view modes, you can send the photos directly from the image gallery, you can use a photo as a screen saver, wallpaper, or contact picture. You can pan and zoom the images quickly and as they also get rotated automatically browsing the photos on the Sony Ericsson C901 is a real pleasure.
The camera in the Sony Ericsson C901 is capable of taking up to 2592 x 1944 pixels. The image quality is outstanding and as you can make use of the LED, or Xenon flash even taking photos in poor light should not be a problem. You also get features such as face detection, smile shutter and you can also put GPS coordinates in the images. The photos have accurate colors, good contrast, and plenty of details. The noise is usually quite low and you get plenty of manual settings so there is really little more you could expect from a mobile phone.
The Sony Ericsson phone features a Access NetFront browser v3.4 web browser which does the job quite well. The websites are rendered accurately and the navigation is pleasant.

Conclusion:

Sony Ericsson C901 is a really good phone for making phone calls listening to music and taking pictures. If you are not a business oriented person and watching high-quality videos on a cell phone is not your priority the Sony Ericsson C901 might be just the right choice.

Sony Ericsson has recently introduced the new mobile phone from Cyber-shot series. This is the model designation C903, and as usual in this series the series it is equipped with a powerful camera, which should deal with the registration of high-quality photos and videos.

Designed to be extremely successful. It is very simple, but it is very stylish and elegant, which also affects the design in black and gray colors. The front LCD screen has 2.4”, which can handle the high resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. This is a pop-up model, which has a nice compact size 97 x 49 x 16mm. The weight is quite low – 96 g, so do not even feel it in your pocket. Under the screen there is a classic control panel, which is dominated by the big middle. The keyboard is large enough, but unfortunately no single buttons are separated, so the use of it may not be easy and pleasant. As this is a 3.5 G cell phone, you will find here a camera that is placed on the top, front corner. Used for video chatting and photographing portraits. You can expect excellent image quality.

Sony Ericsson C903

The camera has a lens with 5 Mpx that should be good enough to record the pictures. Additionally, the Sony Ericsson C903 is very well equipped and has for example, autofocus, flesh, and the image stabilization systems face and smile detection. Of course is the possibility of video recording and sound. Sony Ericsson C903 supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 UMTS 900 / 2100 (C903) or UMTS 850 / 1900 / 2100 GPRS EDGE and UMTS (3G) HSDPA. Unfortunately, it runs a built-in WiFi. On the other hand, the GPS module can be found here, which, unfortunately, fewer users will appreciate. The Sony Ericsson cell phone will also have installed Wayfinder Navigator and also Google Maps. Since the Sony Ericsson phone has a rather small screen, is more useful as a personal navigation.

You can choose from three color options of Sony Ericsson C903, namely black, red and white.
