The design:
Motorola MILESTONE measures 4.56 x 2.36 x 0.54 inches and weighs 165 grams. The phone is made of very high quality materials which shows at the first sight. The Motorola MILESTONE looks as if it was built for use on wars. It seems so durable and solid. Thanks to its matte finish the phone does not attract fingerprints or smudges. The front of the cell phone houses the 3.7-inch display below which there are four touch-sensitive buttons. The left side of the Motorola MILESTONE features the microUSB port, whereas the right side houses the camera button and the volume controls. The top of the phone houses the standard 3.5mm audio jack. Sliding the phone open reveals the full QWERTY keyboard which is well built and responsive, yet its smallish keys may be difficult to use for people with bigger fingers. The back of the Motorola MILESTONE hosts the 5 megapixel camera lens together with the dual-LED flash, but no lens cover.
Performance:
The signal reception in the Motorola MILESTONE is superb as is the in-call sound quality. The display is also outstanding and it seems that it is one of the best screens among all Android mobile phones. The contrast is very good and the sunlight legibility is excellent. The few fingerprints that may remain on the screen usually do no disturb so much as to make it more difficult to use.
The Motorola MILESTONE runs on the latest version of Android and so the entire user interface is quite customizable and very user-friendly. Thanks to the fast processor in the phone all transitions and animations are smooth and the phone is responsive.
The phonebook in the Motorola MILESTONE is very well though out. You can import contacts from a few accounts. You can add plenty of information to each contact and subsequent search of information (or contacts) is done via the built in Google search function. The organizer in the Motorola MILESTONE has all the basic functionality you can expect.
If you’re a keen SMS writer you will be glad to read that the phone has a virtual QWERTY keyboard to supplement the hard buttons. This makes messaging fun and fast. The message editors are simple and you get the default GMail right out of the box.
Multimedia:
The 5 megapixel camera in the Motorola MILESTONE does a really good job. The photos are full of detail, sharp and with accurate colors. The dual-LED flash helps you to take photos in darker light. Also the video recording functionality in the Motorola MILESTONE does not disappoint. You can record 720×480 videos at 24fps. The video quality is really good for a cell phone.
The music player in the Motorola MILESTONE allows you to sort your music library by artist, albums, songs, or custom made playlists, it has some equalizer presets and album art. And as the phone has a powerful speaker and generally good audio quality there is little more you could want.
